Special Events and Protocol

A division of the Chancellor’s Office that produces unique events that support the mission and vision of UC San Diego. From campus traditions and celebrations to groundbreaking ceremonies and intellectual gatherings, we collaborate with partners across campus to deliver events and experiences for campus and community members, alumni, parents, donors, dignitaries, elected officials and media.

Advancement Events Team

The Advancement Events Team (AET) works within Special Events and Protocol and is responsible for planning and managing high-level advancement-focused events. They also provide advice to the Advancement leadership team and staff to ensure that the event experience meets the established goals and objectives for advancing the philanthropic priorities of the university. AET's focus is on conceptualizing and designing events that showcase the outstanding students, faculty, staff, and achievements of UC San Diego in order to engage and steward the alumni and donor community.
